Made to Order

Made to Order

Selling a ton of 16 oz. shampoo and body washes lately, which means I've been busy hand filling and scenting!  An aromatherapy "farmacist" if you will.

I'm excited the washes are catching on, they're gentle, multipurpose and gender neutral--we've used them for years at our house.  You can also use it to beard wash & I use small amounts for hand washing some of my clothes.  O I love a multitasking product!

If you've never been to Urbaca, let me assure you, we have a million and one choices for shampoo/conditioners.

I don't regularly stock our 16 oz. washes because we don't have the shelf space.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you have purchased a 16 oz. wash recently, odds are I probably put it together just for you!  Hope you enjoy!  : )

Adventures in Boise

Adventures in Boise

There's not much I enjoy more than exposing the future estheticians of Idaho to a healthy dose of PDX weirdness. Chakra balancing classes at Oliver Finley went smashingly!

No trip to les Bois is complete without a quick soak and massage at The Springs in Idaho City.  Massages take place in a large tent, a delightful environment with super cool music. Like getting a massage while camping.

Oliver Finley is such a beautiful school, the amenities are amazing, full photo studio, gorgeous facility.  Thank you Oliver Finley, see you next year!

RIDES Souverain

RIDES Souverain

Yesterday was a sad day. I'd just perfected the 7th chakra blend, making an unusually hot mess of myrrh and my husband said, "Price died." The Purple One, taken too soon.

We've been working on the 7th chakra blend for a year now, testing. All of us struggling: me with impatience and formulation, Madison & Kate with design and my impatience. I've been a one woman show for a long time, we're practicing delegation.

This final blend for the crown chakra, our connection to God, spirit, oneness--I call it the cosmos, an elegant whole. Symbolized by the color purple.

The measurements and notes of this essential oil blend are fairly subtle, even more so than RIDES Rêve.

Madison asked me to describe the fragrance in a sentence. I called it a stargazing camping prayer--this was last weekend before the blend was dialed, a little low on vanilla.

Now I think reverence for stardust.

“It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today.” ― Lawrence M. Krauss

PS. Happy Earth Day, star dust babies!!  #blessedbe

Spring 2016 Skin Update What's Happening RIGHT NOW

Today we're talking about last gasps, that bit of product you can't reach in the bottom of the bottle. Use it as a treatment!

For most of April I've been morning masking with wildcrafted bentonite volcanic clay at home adding:

  • The last of my Vanish Serum for a nice, gentle alpha hydroxy kick to combat breakouts. If you've really exhausted the bottle and can't get it out, add a little toner (or water), shake it up, and you can get that last little bit.
  • Softening Spray for moisture and hormone maneuvering support
  • A couple pumps of Antiox Moisture Mask for hydration

Mix the ingredients, apply with a brush, let it dry, rinse with warm water and clean washcloth.

Bentonite volcanic clay contains kaolin, which is astringent, detoxifying & balances oil.  This clay is pure enough to be taken internally for colon cleansing which I do find intriguing but have not yet tried.  Believe you me, you'll be the first to know.

Morning masking has clarified and tightened things up temporarily, but over time I liken it to taking care of your car.  If you maintain it consistently, it will "age" the most gracefully.

PRO TIP: When removing sometimes I'll get crazy and go over the dried mask with some Facial Tonic Oil on my hands and massage everything together to increase circulation and get a very light exfoliation from the mask.  Rinse with cool water on this one, my face gets pretty red with the circulation--which is what's doing the detoxifying so this is not a bad thing.  Plus it goes down after about 15 minutes.

Following with antioxidants, Supreme Creme and of course, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!

Happy April! xo
