Made to Order

Made to Order

Selling a ton of 16 oz. shampoo and body washes lately, which means I've been busy hand filling and scenting!  An aromatherapy "farmacist" if you will.

I'm excited the washes are catching on, they're gentle, multipurpose and gender neutral--we've used them for years at our house.  You can also use it to beard wash & I use small amounts for hand washing some of my clothes.  O I love a multitasking product!

If you've never been to Urbaca, let me assure you, we have a million and one choices for shampoo/conditioners.

I don't regularly stock our 16 oz. washes because we don't have the shelf space.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you have purchased a 16 oz. wash recently, odds are I probably put it together just for you!  Hope you enjoy!  : )

Adventures in Boise

Adventures in Boise

There's not much I enjoy more than exposing the future estheticians of Idaho to a healthy dose of PDX weirdness. Chakra balancing classes at Oliver Finley went smashingly!

No trip to les Bois is complete without a quick soak and massage at The Springs in Idaho City.  Massages take place in a large tent, a delightful environment with super cool music. Like getting a massage while camping.

Oliver Finley is such a beautiful school, the amenities are amazing, full photo studio, gorgeous facility.  Thank you Oliver Finley, see you next year!

Why There Are Three Heart Chakra Blends

Why There Are Three Heart Chakra Blends

The heart wants what it wants! A little more about the three heart chakra balancing essential oil blends: Fairy Godmother, HWY 101 & Softening.

Fairy Godmother is for emotional protection fostering forgiveness.  Rose distillate based with very gentle rose otto & clary sage.  Made for sensitive skin types, children and kids at heart seem to love Fairy Godmother.

HWY 101 is for strengthening and centering the heart.  Patchouli oil equalizes emotions, if they are too high, brings them down.  Too low? Lifts them up. Also a known aphrodisiac.  Unisex fragrance, one of our best selling fragrances for men.  Want a quick beach getaway?  Shake HWY 101, mist upward 3-5 times, lightly catch the mist on your face. HWY 101 has an algae salt water base designed to bring you immediately to the Oregon Coast.

If you like Fairy Godmother, Softening Spray is her big sister with a similar base of Rose distillate and Clary Sage, now with Lavender, Grapefruit and Geranium. This is an excellent soothing blend for PMS and ladies troubles in general, also good for softening the heart and forgiveness.  Everyone should have a Softening Spray in their desk drawer at work and spray it before tense negotiations!  IDK, see what happens. Alternate name "Relationship Saver". If you spend a lot of time in the dog house, buy this in bulk.

What's In Your Bottle?

What's In Your Bottle?

Recently I checked out some other aromatherapy lines to see what they're up to, I LOVE the smells! I'm seeing a tendency to list fragrances as "essential oil blend", rather than the individual oils.  As a maker, I understand not wanting to share industry secrets, but as a licensed esthetician, I'm going to need that full ingredient list, please and thank you!

My skin care philosophy has always been use what you want, know what you're using, and why. People have sensitivities to a wide spectrum of both natural and synthetic ingredients and it's my job as an empathic skin care professional to ask questions, communicate and use intuition to avoid unnecessary challenges. It's important for people to be fully informed about what is going on their skin, it is our largest organ and one of our most useful detoxifying agents.

I can take care of your skin using only our organically preserved products, this does not mean they are 100% organic (though many of the ingredients are) we are preserving the product with flower and plant extracts rather than synthetic chemicals.

In other products containing water we use a small amount of other preservatives that rate low to moderate health hazard because we've determined exposing you to bacteria in those products would be worse for you.  Use what you want, know what you're using, and why.

Up until RIDES Rêve I have designed every label for each product and let me tell you, ingredient lists are a beast.  But everything is listed.  I am actively trying to teach future generations of estheticians my industry secrets, how I chakra and energy balance, read tarot, wax, do my facials--people voice concern that the people I've taught will become the competition.  Well, ok.  We do open and transparent economy here on the farm.
Y'all come back now, ya hear? #peace
